Incident at 5151 South Willow Drive #19
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested regarding the death of a newborn baby found at 5151 South Willow Drive #19 about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (June 10).
The suspect, Claudia Cortes (H/f, DOB: 1/15/84), is charged with tampering/ fabricating physical evidence in the 262nd State District Court. Cortes could face additional charges in the death of her newborn infant, pending autopsy results from the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants B.E. Roberts and E. Gonzalez reported:
Cortes gave birth to a newborn female in the early morning hours and was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital claiming she had a miscarriage. The newborn was found deceased inside Cortes’ apartment.
The investigation is continuing.
